We recently engaged Bloomin'Good for a house painting project. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. David and his team were punctual, professional, and incredibly skilled. The attention to detail that demonstrated was impressive. They took the time to carefully prepare the surfaces before painting, ensuring a flawless finish. The colour recommendations they provided were spot-on, and the final result exceeded my expectations. Their professionalism, expertise, and commitment to delivering exceptional results make them a top choice. I will definitely be reaching out to Bloomin'Good Port Macquarie for any future painting projects I have.

We will drive you through every step that encounters painting a room.

Follow these simple steps to paint room:

Step 1: Fill up cracks in your surface

While preparing to paint, firstly, you have to fill up the holes and cracks. You can do it, using two coats of plaster compound to the spot.

Step 2: Use sander

After your plaster gets dried up, apply some sander to sand down lightly the surface till it gets smooth.

Step 3: Clean walls before you proceed to paint room

Make your walls clean. Take out dust, dirt and lubricate spots which can mess up a smooth end. You can do this using water, little dishwashing detergent and the cellulose sponge. Clean walls with neat water to eradicate the soap remainder.

Step 4: Tape the hardware and furniture

Make sure you use blue tape of painters. Earlier than you start to paint, take out all the furnishings from the room. After that, tape the furniture and hardware in the room. This helps in preventing paint from spilling out of them.

Step 5: Decide your colour scheme

You can choose a colour for room relevant to the dominate colour of the furniture in your space. Also, look from light to dark with the lightest colour in the ceiling, moderate on the walls and dark on the floors.

Step 6: Prime the walls

There might be some common myths on the wall that is painted lots of times is not necessary to be primed. In truth, primer benefits with maximum sheen and coverage of paints providing the finish coat with a consistent look.

Step 7: Pick among water or oil based paints

Water based paints are mostly applied to the ceiling and wall. And, oil based paints are more durable and applied for trims, architrave and door as they usually get more wear and scratch.

Step 8: Choose adequate amount of paint

One litre of paint roughly covers about 17 square meters of area. If your area id more leaky or textured compared to the normal one, you might require more than 20% of the paint for the same exposure.

Step 9: Brush the place your roller can’t reach

Brush on paint all over the trim, also in the corner of walls where your roller is unable to make it with 2 inches angled brush. Expand out 2-3 inches and start painting window frames, door and moulding.

Step 10: Consider suing an undercoat to paint room

There are some cases where you should apply a sealer, primer or an undercoat. Think about it and consider applying an undercoat if you work on the new walls and cover repaired scuffs or marks or you are on the over existing paint which is dark in colour.
